COORDINATOR OF GRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS CENTER (T7) 
FLSA Status: Nonexempt

NATURE OF JOB:
Under limited supervision, performs skilled and complex administrative duties, providing leadership and technical expertise to the operation of the Graphic Communications Center (GCC). The principal emphasis is on the coordination and administration of skilled printing services. Requires the exercise of independent judgment and discretion.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Depending on assignment, the following are typical examples of work: 

* Evaluates and recommends printing equipment and supplies; 
Serves as backup for equipment operators and Assistant Manager of  GCC; 
* Maintains, diagnoses and repairs printing equipment; 
* Performs safety checks on all equipment; 
* Provides technical advice on printing production; 
* Prioritizes, assigns, and reviews work for specialty areas within GCC; 
* Conducts cost/benefit analyses; 
* Trains employees in the operation of equipment and procedures; 
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES: Occasionally required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with five years of experience in the printing industry including supervisory and team building experience. Related trade school courses preferred.  Additional related education may be substituted for required experience. Requires knowledge of lithographic practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures; mechanical aptitude; demonstrated ability to use intermediate techniques in spreadsheet and/or database software; and ability to analyze, interpret data, make independent decisions, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and communicate and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires the ability  to accurately discern colors and troubleshoot related problems
