COORDINATOR OF PHOTOGRAPHIC SERVICES (T7) 
FLSA Status: Nonexempt

NATURE OF JOB:
Under limited supervision, performs skilled and complex administrative duties pertinent to the operation of Photographic Services. The principal emphasis is on the coordination and administration of skilled photographic duties. A high level of independent judgment is required. 

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Depending on unit assignment, the following are typical

* Advises clients on photographic needs;
* Interprets photographic and University policies for departments and clients; 
* Assigns, prioritizes and reviews work of photographers for accuracy and completeness; 
* Prepares payroll for miscellaneous wage and student employees; 
* Determines and orders photographic and office supplies; 
* Monitors departmental budget; prepares budget in consultation with the Assistant to the President/Director of Public Relations; 
* Prepares statistical reports; 
* Responsible for photographic coverage of historical University events; 
* Informs Public Relation's professionals of possible story ideas and photographic possibilities for University publications; 
* Responsible for records retention schedule; 
* Performs technical duties such as mounting prints and slides, spotting prints, slides and negatives, taking passport photographs, washing and drying prints;
* Safeguards all financial, confidential and personal documents;
* Responsible for the safety, repair, maintenance and inventory of office and photographic equipment; 
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES:
Occasionally required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
Requires a minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent course work in business or related field with three to five years of progressively responsible related experience. Supervisory experience and knowledge of University programs, policies and procedures preferred, including budget control and purchasing practices and procedures. Requires knowledge of photographic practices, procedures and equipment, particularly  those involving the latest in technology; ability to analyze and interpret data, make independent decisions and judgments in keeping with level of the position, and plan, assign, review and evaluate the work of staff; organizational skills; ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently; demonstrated ability to use advanced techniques in spreadsheet, database and graphic software; and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires the ability to lift and move, with or without assistance, camera equipment and to accurately discern colors and focus images.
