performs ventilation surveys using field instrumentation; sets schedule;
maintains records on a computer database; develops reports; coordinates
with Facilities to ensure deficient systems are repaired: schedules maintenance
of ventilation equipment; consults with laboratory personnel on fume hood
issues;
* Independently completes chemical, radioactive and infectious waste pick-ups
on campus; interacts with faculty, researchers and students on waste issues;
classifies waste by EPA and DOT hazard and shipping class; bulks compatible
waste; prepares lab packs for off-site shipments; supervises waste broker
activities; collects and analyzes waste samples for radioactive constituents;
completes and maintains regulatory records; signs waste manifests;
* Maintains emergency response vehicle and associated equipment as well as
other departmental vehicles; orders supplies as needed *

campus buildings for radon: independently schedules test with
building occupants; sets up monitoring equipment; analyzes

following established EPA and NIOSH protocols; calibrates air sampling
equipment; documents sampling data; supervises outside asbestos abatement
contractors and consultants; trains University personnel on asbestos awareness;
