FLSA Status: Nonexempt Revised July 1, 1999 NATURE OF JOB: Under general supervision, keys and verifies data from a variety of source documents for input into University computing systems utilizing specialized equipment, software and desktop PC. The principal emphasis is on operating alphabetical and/or key recording devices. Requires independent judgment while working within established procedures. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Depending on divisional assignment, the following are typical * Keys and verifies data from a variety of source documents for input to University computing systems; * Validates accuracy of material recorded by means of verification; * Performs routine jobs which are generated daily, weekly and monthly as assigned by Lead Data Entry Operator I; * Performs clerical tasks to identify incorrect or incomplete codes and reconciles out-of-balance batches; contacts end user for resolution consensus; * Participates in programming and user interaction training; * Performs other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES: Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with one year of experience operating alphanumeric key recording devices. Additional related education may be substituted for required experience. Requires knowledge of office practices and principles; knowledge of University forms; and the ability to communicate and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
