FLSA Status: Nonexempt Revised July 1, 1999 NATURE OF JOB: Under general supervision, performs moderately routine skilled work related to the bindery process. The principal emphasis is on performing manual and mechanical duties related to the bindery process. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Depending on assignment, the following are typical examples of work: * Operates and maintains bindery and related equipment such as collators, inserters, folders and paper cutter; performs minor adjustments and routine repairs on mechanical equipment; * Maintains mailing lists; * Manually collates, labels, stuffs and packages items; sorts for bulk mailings; * Trains temporary workers; * Enters information into computer systems; * Performs other related duties as assigned. OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES: Occasionally required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES: Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with one year's bindery experience. Requires knowledge of bindery techniques; technical or mechanical aptitude; basic math skills; basic computer skills; and ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires the ability to lift, with or without assistance, up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. May be required to pass data entry test.
