FLSA Status: Nonexempt Revised July 1, 1999 NATURE OF JOB: Under direct supervision, keys and verifies data from a variety of source documents for input into University computing systems utilizing specialized equipment and software. The principal emphasis is on operating alphabetical and/or numerical key recording devices within established procedures. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Depending on divisional assignment, the following are typical * Transcribes data on a key recording device from a variety of source documents; * Records new and updates existing data processing files on key operating equipment; * Performs routine jobs which are keyed daily, weekly and monthly as assigned by the Lead Data Entry Operator I; * Performs other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES: Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Six months of experience in operating alphanumeric key recording devices preferred. Requires the ability to communicate and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must pass a keystroke test (10,000 KPH).
