FLSA Status: Nonexempt Revised July 1, 1999 NATURE OF JOB: Under limited supervision, manages the operational aspects of a campus program or service. The principal emphasis is on facilitating, coordinating and/or supervising staff in support of a service and/or campus activity. A high level of independent judgment and discretion are required. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Depending on divisional assignment, the following are typical * Manages the operational aspects of events or services to include, but not limited to, scheduling vehicles for maintenance, building upkeep, conference events, athletic competitions, fitness centers and playing fields; * Provides required instruction to staff, other service providers and or/volunteers to ensure proper and timely completion of jobs and operation of equipment; * Assigns work schedules as appropriate and resolves day-to-day operating issues; recommends route and/or schedule changes; * Recommends staffing, material and/or equipment additions and/or changes; * Implements and ensures compliance with personnel policies and unit procedures; * Evaluates or assists in the evaluation of employees' performances and makes recommendations regarding personnel actions; * Ensures proper completion and submission of timecards; coordinates vacation schedules and other time off for employees; * Coordinates emergency responses and assists in or performs public safety functions as required; * Researches and resolves customer complaints and service delivery problems; advises and trains employees to ensure problems do not recur; * Assists visitors, students and staff by providing information or directions; * Manages inventory including determining equipment and/or supply needs, evaluating product information, recommending purchases and placing orders; * Performs inspections to ensure work quality and quantity standards; * Monitors vehicles, documents malfunctions and manages vehicle repair process to ensure cost effectiveness and vehicle safety; * Issues work orders and requests for service; * Maintains records; prepares reports and analyzes data; * Monitors and assists in the development of departmental budgets; * Serves as liaison with other campus units; * Performs other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES: Requires a minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent course work in business administration or related field with five years of progressively responsible related experience. Related progressive experience beyond a high school diploma or GED may be substituted for required education or additional related education may be substituted for required experience. Requires customer service and scheduling experience, attention to detail, knowledge of administrative, financial and/or personnel procedures; basic math, computer and organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: May be required to maintain a valid CDL B operator's license. May require the ability to lift, with or without assistance, supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require specific licensure certification, advanced computer skills or other specialist qualifications.
