SERVICE COORDINATOR (V5)
FLSA Status: Nonexempt

NATURE OF JOB:
Under general supervision, assists in the operational aspects of a campus program or service. The principal emphasis is on providing service and/or program preparations according to client specifications. Independent judgment and discretion are required to resolve nonroutine matters.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Depending on divisional assignment, the following are typical

* Maintains inventory to include records, requisitions, security and verification of purchase orders and invoices; 
* Identifies and recommends vendors/merchandise; 
* Assists in operational aspects of events or services from initial setup through billing process; 
* Performs general housekeeping for events and/or retail operation; 
* Instructs and guides the work of personnel; briefs staff on assignments, adjusts work schedules and/or hours of operation; verifies payroll hours; 
* Monitors University equipment and facilities; schedules and/or performs appropriate maintenance/minor field repair work; 
* Prepares written reports;
* Responds to inquiries and resolves operational problems;
* Monitors and ensures quality control;
* Opens, secures and/or closes a facility;
* Performs financial functions to include daily bank deposits and verification of credit and cash transactions;
* Assists in the preparation of financial documents;
* Maintains liaison with representatives of University units and external entities;
* Performs other related duties as assigned. 

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS/OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES:

For some positions, the physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. For some positions, occasionally required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with three years of related experience. Additional related education may be substituted for required experience. Requires attention to detail as well as the ability to interpret University policies and applicable regulations and anticipate, evaluate and take appropriate action to resolve problems that impact service delivery. Requires basic computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds are required. Some positions require mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of tools. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
May require the ability to lift, with or without assistance, up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
