SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (V4)
FLSA Status: Nonexempt

NATURE OF JOB:
Under general supervision, provides initial unit contact to the University community and the general public. The principal emphasis is on providing customer service by answering questions, resolving complaints and interpreting information obtained from a wide variety of sources. Independent judgment and discretion are required. 

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Depending on divisional assignment, the following are typical

* Researches, interprets and provides accurate information to the University community and the general public; 
* Responds to incoming calls and visitors; answers routine and nonroutine questions; 
* Enters, retrieves and interprets information using the Student Information System or other sources; 
* Receives and processes payments; 
* Completes and/or verifies University forms;
* Analyzes data and prepares reports;
* Maintains office supplies and materials inventory;
* Provides guidance to student workers as needed;
* Updates a variety of records and controls;
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES:
Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with two years of customer service experience. Additional related education may be substituted for required experience. Requires the ability to resolve problems and interpret University policies and applicable regulations; basic word processing and computer skills including ability to input, edit, save and retrieve data; demonstrated human relations skills; and the ability to communicate effectively and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
