FLSA Status: Nonexempt Revised July 1, 1999 NATURE OF JOB: Under general supervision performs routine and nonroutine clerical/record processing, inventory control and moderately complex reconciliation duties. The principal emphasis is on information processing, maintenance, archiving, verification, input and retrieval. Independent judgment is required to resolve routine problems. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Depending on divisional assignment, the following are typical * Codes, batches and/or enters data; receives, reviews and corrects error reports; * Reconciles reports, budget statements, cash receipts, etc.; * Performs computations to calculate values, develop estimates or verify statistics; * Obtains information from a variety of sources; verifies content and dispenses information as appropriate; * Selects and organizes data in established report format; * Reviews, verifies and processes standard documents, promissory notes, claims, forms, etc.; * Generates standard reports and verifies information; * Guides work of students and miscellaneous wage workers including assigning and reviewing work, developing schedules, training, resolving routine problems, etc.; * Maintains inventories, contacts vendors and prepares work orders as appropriate; * Answers inquiries within authorized limits; refers nonroutine questions to others; * Performs other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES: Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with two years of responsible clerical/record processing and/or inventory control experience. Additional related education may be substituted for required experience. University and customer service experience preferred. Requires general knowledge of business operating procedures and standard business practices. Requires basic word processing and computer skills including ability to input, edit, save and retrieve data; working knowledge of electronic information systems including databases and spreadsheets; and the ability to communicate effectively and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: May need to pass data entry test. Some positions may require the ability to lift and carry, with or without assistance, boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, climb ladders up to 4 1/2 feet, and bend and reach to place boxes on shelves.
