FLSA Status: Non-exempt Revised July 1, 1999 NATURE OF JOB: Under immediate supervision, serves as initial office contact for students, parents, visitors, etc. Answers routine questions and provides information both orally and in writing. The principal emphasis is on providing customer service while performing light clerical duties. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Depending on divisional assignment, the following are typical examples of work: * Receives and greets visitors; answers general questions, refers specific inquiries to others; * Dispenses information such as brochures, applications and catalogs to students, visitors, parents, etc.; * Schedules and confirms appointments; * Answers multiline phone system and refers calls to the appropriate person; * Prepares and/or maintains files; * Provides guidance to student workers; * May type labels, envelopes, etc.; * Performs other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES: Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. One year clerical and/or customer service experience preferred. Requires knowledge of basic office practices and telephone etiquette, basic computer skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
