Honors Program Registration Information for First-Year UDHP Students
Information for Students Whose GPAs May Be Below a 3.00
Fall grades will not yet be posted when students register for spring classes. Because students will lose their enrollment in Honors courses if they are below a 3.0 after fall grades are posted, students who think their GPAs might be below a 3.0 should only plan to register for one Honors course for the spring. In this case, you would only lose your enrollment in one Honors course and would only need to pick up one regular course to replace that Honors course. If you do better than you expected, you can add any additional open Honors courses you need once fall grades are posted. If you are fairly certain that your GPA will be below a 3.0, we would advise not registering for any Honors courses. Again, you can always add open Honors courses to your schedule later if you do better than expected and achieve the required 3.0 GPA. Students taking winter session courses at UD who improve their GPAs to 3.0 once winter grades are posted may be able to add an open Honors course(s) once winter grades are posted. However, please note that winter session grades are typically not posted until the end of the first week of the spring semester.
At the end of their course of study, UD students integrate their previous work in a culminating experience such as a senior seminar, group project, or similar activity. Please consult the Capstone course list for courses that have been approved for the Honors Degree and Honors Degree with Distinction.
