The Reason I chose UD: I chose UD because of the excellent Chemical Engineering program and emphasis on undergraduate research. The beautiful campus, wide selection of classes, study abroad program, and scholarship package were also factors in my decision.
Most influential UD professor: Dr. Jingguang Chen has been my most influential professor. After freshman year, Dr. Chen began supervising my undergraduate research in alternative energy. He gave me my own project and all the resources necessary to conduct research. I have been doing research with him ever since and he has made my undergraduate experience unforgettable. Dr. Chen shows his passion for teaching in the classroom and is one of the department's finest professors.
Favorite Honors experience: Studying abroad in Martinique during the Winter of 2009. With help from my Honors program scholarship I was able to spend a month in Martinique studying their culture and the French language.
I couldn't imagine the UD Honors Program without . . . my freshman year classes. The UD Honors Program gave me the opportunity to have small class sizes and excellent professors like Dr. Munson and Dr. Groh. These classes set a strong foundation for my education in the following years.
What does the UDHP mean to me? The Honors Program provides students with numerous benefits - from small class sizes to scholarship opportunities and a network to meet other students.
When I'm up late studying . . . I crave Margherita's Pizza
My favorite Honors Program and UD traditions are . . . the football games, especially the Homecoming game when everyone comes out in support of UD.
