The reason I chose UD: I felt that UD offered me a plethora of opportunities. Also, because I wasn't looking for a large school environment, I feel that the Honors Program makes UD feel like a small school with the resources of a large university.
Most influential UD professor: I feel that my most influential UD Professor thus far has been my introductory level Computer Science professor, Professor Harvey. Prior to coming to UD, I felt as if I would not like Computer Science, but because of Dr. Harvey's class, I have a much stronger grasp on Computer Science, and thus, I no longer fear Computer Science.
Favorite Honors experience: My favorite Honors experience has been my Freshman year housing. As a Freshman in the Honors Program, I am required to live on campus in the Russell complex. As a result, I have met many different, smart, talent classmates all of whom astound me because of the breadth of talent that is seen within just one hall of the dormitories.
I couldn't imagine the UD Honors Program without . . . stand-alone Honors Courses. Being enrolled in mostly Honors courses, I know that having the small learning environment of an Honors course allows me to have more interaction with the professor as well as being more than a number to the professor. Furthermore, Honors courses challenge me and force me to work to the full extent of my ability.
At UD, I am most involved in . . . Freshmen Fellows, a group of Honors Freshmen who plan different Honors events; Swing UD, the on campus swing dance club; and MUNUD, the Model UN at UD.
What does the UDHP mean to me? The UD Honors Program makes the University of Delaware more tangible to me. It creates a small school environment, but on the other hand, there's a wealth of opportunities provided to Honors students that are only possible because UD is a large, research university.
When I'm up late studying . . . I crave a calzone from D. P. Dough from Main Street.
My favorite Honors Program and UD traditions are . . . Freshmen Fellows, because I have the ability to plan events as a Freshman which is important to me because I can give back to a community that has already given so much to me and Russell Coffeehouse, since I can see all of the different talents that I alluded to earlier.
