Merit Scholarships

Unique Awards for UDHP students

Students who gain admission into the Honors Program are competitive for University merit scholarships. All students whose admission applications are complete by the date set by the Admissions Office each year are automatically reviewed for academic scholarships. Our most prestigious scholarships are our Distinguished Scholar Awards. The Distinguished Scholars include the Eugene duPont Scholars (who receive full scholarships), Alumni Scholars, Alison Scholars, 1743 Scholars, and Stark Scholars. See the Admissions Office page for more information about merit scholarships. Questions about merit scholarships should be directed to the Admissions Office (302-831-8123).

High School Class of 2011 Mindset:

  • Most students entering college for the first time this fall were born in 1992
  • They have never used a card catalog to find a book.
  • Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream has always been a flavor choice.
  • There has always been a Cartoon Network.
  • The nation's key economic indicator has always been the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
  • "Viewer Discretion" has always been an available warning on TV shows.
  • There has always been a computer in the Oval Office.
  • Fergie is a pop singer, not a princess.
  • "Caramel macchiato" and "venti half-caf vanilla latte" have always been street corner lingo.
