Events of Interest to Honors Students

• Battle for Life Committee Travels to South Africa

  This coming January, 13 students from the Battle for Life Committee of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society will be traveling to South Africa to volunteer with children affected by AIDS. They will spend several weeks working in an orphanage, a primary school, and an AIDS clinic, all three of which the group supports financially through efforts here on campus. The overall purpose of the trip is to give UD students a greater appreciation for the issues that affect children in South Africa, and to strengthen personal ties between the Battle for Life Committee and the children who it supports. During their stay, the students will also visit a cheetah research center, spend a weekend on a hike in the mountains, and go on a four day safari.
