A new UNIX central system, mahler.udel.edu, has been put into service. Some time after the semester is over, Mahler (Solaris 10 OS) will replace Strauss (Solaris 9).
Both systems will be supported through the entire semester. However, new versions of software will probably only be installed on Mahler.
User directories are cross-mounted on Copland, Strauss and Mahler. Therefore, your UDelNet ID will work and your files should be accessible on all three systems. Mahler is a work-in-progress. If something doesn't work there, try it on Strauss and notify the IT Help Center Mahler is a Sun M5000 server with 8 dual-core, 2.1Ghz, SPARC64 VI processors and 128 Gb of RAM.
