E-mail Help

To read your University e-mail, you must have:

1. An Active E-mail Account
    
   • New Students/Faculty/Staff:   Read about and Activate your UDelNet Account.    (UD PIN required for Account Activation.)
   • After activating your account, you may immediately access UD e-mail.
      
2. A Program that allows you to read and send e-mail
    
   • The University of Delaware provides support and assistance for the e-mail software listed below.
   • Other e-mail programs may be used, but the University cannot provide assistance for them.
      

     Software NOT requiring prior computer configuration
     Google Apps Mail	- for all UD undergraduate students and others who have converted to Google Apps mail, accessible through any Internet web browser at  http://googleapps.udel.edu         Google Apps help
     Webmail Direct (Mirapoint)	- UD's alternate e-mail system, accessible through any Internet web browser at  http://mail.udel.edu.         How to Use Webmail Direct First-time users:  Review webmail preferences. By default, the E-mail spam filter is on. Check your Junk Mail folder daily to verify that valid mail has not been misdirected there.
     Pine	- an alternate mail client for Webmail direct (Mirapoint) email    How to Use Pine
     Central MS Exchange	- For those Faculty/Staff on MS Exchange only, accessible through any Internet web browser at  https://webmail.admin.udel.edu    MS Exchange help
     Software requiring configuration on your computer/device

     Students may forward their UD mail to another e-mail account, however read these warnings.

Frequently requested e-mail functions:

• Display Message headers     (Choose Gmail)
• View/modify your Google Apps password    (Login required).
• Forward Google Apps mail to another account    (Login required).

• Activate UD's SPAM filter - Log In and Set Preferences.
  The Spam filter can be fine-tuned using allowed senders and blocked senders lists.
• Change your UDelNet password for UD central systems    (Login required)
• iPhone setup-UD webmail
• Show largest e-mail folders/messages( UD mail)   (Login required)
• Vacation messages     (sets an automatic "away" message when not reading e-mail)
• Forward e-mail to another account    (Login required)
  • Remove e-mail forwarding     (Login, choose "Forward your Email" & "Remove your current forwarding")
