George Read, located on Laird Campus, is complete with modern technology access and state-of-the-art amenities. The residence hall is a ten-minute walk from Main Street and the Trabant University Center, and is home to Pencader Dining Hall. Shuttle buses run to Laird Campus every five-to-fifteen minutes, providing George Read residents with easy access to the rest of campus.

George Read residents live in double and single-room suites with a connecting bath. Each suite has off-white walls, tile floors, window treatments, and adjustable heat and air conditioning controls, along with standard UD furniture.

Laundry facilities are available in each building, and every floor has common areas and/or study lounges for student use.

A new fitness center is available on the ground floor of Independence Hall, which can be used by all George Read residents. Independence Square, a turf field outside of Independence Hall, is also provided for student use.
