What is "extended" housing?
- All incoming freshmen who apply to live
on campus by the May 1 application deadline date are guaranteed housing.
The University reserves housing for the number of students who typically
apply to live on campus. Should we receive more applications than expected,
we will provide "extended" housing in double rooms. Assignment
in a "tripled" room is a temporary arrangement.
- Most students assigned to an extended
housing room will be offered a permanent space before the end of the Fall
semester.
- All students who wish to be reassigned
to a permanent space are given priority for a room change at the beginning
of the Spring semester as there are sufficient vacancies throughout campus.
- "3's Company" (a newsletter
for extended housing students) is distributed throughout the Fall semester.
The newsletter provides helpful hints and suggestions, up-to-date information
about "tripled rooms," and how students are reassigned to permanent
spaces.
