Graduate Student & Family Housing:

If your destination is the University of Delaware, Housing Assignment Services makes apartment-hunting easy. Forget the classified ads and forego the scouting trips. Housing Assignment Services offers a complete package that simplifies the apartment shopping process and eliminates the hassles of settling into campus. Rent, utilities, and maintenance are combined, making payments simple. When you arrive, you step into a stimulating and supportive community of students with shared educational and family concerns.

Location & Convenience

We take your education as seriously as you do, allowing you to concentrate on the business of being a student. A car isn’t necessary. Laundry facilities are on the premises. Classrooms, public computer sites, the library, two University Centers, convenience stores, restaurants, banks, and drugstores are all within walking distance. Grocery stores and shopping centers are accessible by public transportation. We take care of the facilities. When something in your room or apartment needs attention, one phone call is all it takes. Our comprehensive security program includes security screens on all ground- and first-floor windows and access systems that allow main entries to be locked 24 hours a day. A state of the art fire alarm/suppression system in the buildings combines smoke detection with a sprinkler system for maximum protection of life and property. The smoke and heat alarms in every building are wired into a central reporting system.

Competitive Rates

Our rates compare favorably to off-campus housing rates. Graduate Student & Family Housing does not require a security deposit, and utilities are included. Payment requires just one check for the same amount every month, and covers nearly all living costs. Local telephone service is provided; simply bring your touch-tone telephone to enjoy free features such as call hold, call waiting, and automatic call-back. Voicemail is also included, and each student is given a private voice mailbox upon arrival to campus. Other included amenities are utilities (heat, air condition, electric, and water), data (high-speed access to the internet), and cable TV (over 61 channels offered). In addition, all buildings have convenient, low-cost laundry facilities.

Parking is not included in the rental rate, but a resident student parking permit may be purchased from the Department of Public Safety (302 831-1184).
