Information for New Students:

  • Before moving in, make sure you have all the residence hall essentials you need. Consider refrigerators/microwaves, carpets, linens, and bed lofts, which can all be rented or purchased through the University of Delaware's affiliates. If ordered by certain deadlines -- typically around mid-August -- these items may even be delivered to your complex or room on Move-In Day.
  • The Student Housing Agreement binding date was June 1. All students with active applications are responsible for the full academic year housing charge. Please see the Agreement for more information.
  • Look for information in August about how to electronically check into your residence hall. This will reduce the amount of time required for check-in once you arrive on campus.
  • Please familiarize yourself with all guidelines regarding the hanging of decorations on residence hall room walls and the list of prohibited items.
  • Share your new address with family and friends! See page 9/10 of Being Here for the correct mail delivery format.
  • All freshman students are required to have a meal plan. Students have been assigned the "10 Weekly" option by default, but are free to select another plan through the Dining Services website. To view all meal plan options, turn to page 10/11 of your Being Here, or click here.
  • Get ready for school at the University Bookstore. Get educational pricing from JourneyEd and reserve your textbooks for the Fall Semester using the Textbook Reservation section of the UD Bookstore's website.
