If you are new to the Greek system, you probably know very little about what Fraternity and Sorority Life is all about. Sure, you have seen the parties and the big events like Homecoming, Step Show and Air Band. However, that is only a small part of what being Greek actually is.

Fraternity men and sorority women who share a special bond. Your brothers and sisters will share experiences that shape your life and how you view others. Brotherhood and sisterhood transcends other friendships, it is stronger in ways you couldn’t otherwise understand. Fraternity and Sorority means knowing whatever happens to you, you will always have your brothers and sisters to support you. These people will share some of the most memorable times you will experience at college. In addition, alumni of fraternities and sororities exist throughout the entire world; as as you enter the ‘real world,’ these people can become the most valuable assets attainable at college.

Here are some interesting facts about fraternities:

• Approximately 80% of the top executives in Fortune 500 are fraternity men.
• 71% of men listed in Who's Who in America are fraternity men.
• 76% of the current United States Senators and Congressmen are fraternity men.
• 40 of the 47 Supreme Court Justices since 1910 have been fraternity men.
• 100 of the 158 cabinet members since 1900 have been fraternity men.
• All but 3 United States Presidents since 1825 have been fraternity men.

Finally, a Fraternity or Sorority is something to believe in. Each has traditions
and principles that have been around, in many cases, for over one hundred years.
You will experience the same rituals and learn the same secrets that your brothers
and sisters have experienced decades before. Once you leave the University of Delaware, it will still be there and you will be forever Greek. In a sense, being in a Fraternity or Sorority makes you immortal at a university where it is simple to be
