Rights of New Members

  • You have the right to be treated with respect and dignity.
  • You have the right to be an active participant in all chapter matters notrelating directly to ritual.
  • You have the right to have a qualified member of the active chapter assistyou in learning the operations, history, ideals, and standards of the organization.
  • You have the right to prioritize academic and University obligationsover chapter commitments.
  • You have the right to participate in outside activities that contributeto the strength of the development of the chapter.
  • You have the right to not be isolated, physically or socially, from the chapter,a portion of the chapter, or the campus community.
  • You have the right not to be subjected to any form of physical tests or abuse.
  • You have the right not to be denied sleep, meals, or adequate time for personal grooming.
  • You have the right to refuse to perform tasks or duties that may endanger your physical or mental safety.
  • You have the right to refuse to be treated in the manner that your current friends wouldn't treat you.
  • You have the right to know the date of your initiation.
  • You have the right to confront any chapter member who you feel has violated the ideals and principles of your organization.
  • You have the right to talk to the Greek Advisor at any time.
