Since its rechartering in 2010, Delta Tau Delta has been a leader among fraternities at the University of Delaware. One of the largest national fraternities, with over 130 active chapters, Delta Tau Delta continues to be a forerunner in Greek life here at UD both socially and academically.
As Delts, we live by a common mission: "Committed to Lives of Excellence", and nowhere else does that hold more true than at the University of Delaware. Delta Tau Delta, or DTD, constantly achieves Gold in the campus Chapter Assessment Program (CAP), and is currently the highest scoring IFC fraternity. DTD also holds academics in the highest regard, having the highest cumulative GPA among IFC fraternities as well.
As a social fraternity, we strive to keep a very active social life. Past events include mixers and date parties at various venues both in and out of state, as well as our annual Spring Formal in Ocean City, Maryland, the highlight of the spring semester. We are, however, very committed to brotherhood as well. In UD's annual Airband competition, last year we won first place. We always look forward toHomecoming every year in the Fall semester, as well asGreek Week and Airband in the Spring. We have been on numerous brotherhood outings that include ski trips and camping trips, as well as participating in nearly all of the intramural sports.
Delta Tau Delta is also a values-based organization. Our mission and values are offered to the public as a representation of the core values contained in our Ritual. All programs offered by the Fraternity reflect our four corevalues, and are designed to help the men of our Fraternity reach the level of excellence for which we all strive. The four fundamental principles of Delta Tau Delta are Truth, Courage, Faith and Power.
Our values not only speak of academic excellence, but of lifelong learning and of civic engagement. Our local philanthropy, the Wounded Warrior Project, gives assistance to severely injured active duty service members. We constantly are participating in other chapters' philanthropy events, and even host an annual "Warrior Week", a week full of fundraisers at local restaurants and events designed to raise money and raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project. We also are constantly engaged in service projects around the community.
Just a few notable Delts include 2 sitting governors, 5 sitting congressional members, including former Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan and Delaware Senator Tom Carper, actor Will Ferrell, actor and comedian Drew Carey, and 3 astronauts. Delta Tau Delta now has 134 undergraduate chapters and colonies, more than 6,800 active undergraduates, more than 115,000 living alumni, and has initiated more than 157,000 members since its founding.
Delta Tau Delta continues to be a forerunner socially and academically both nationally and at UD.
