Phi Sigma Pi (Φ Σ Π)

What is Phi Sigma Pi?

Phi Sigma Pi is not your typical fraternity or sorority. We are a gender-inclusive fraternity open to all students with a 3.1GPA or higher. Phi Sigma Pi is not merely an honor society, service fraternity, or social fraternity, but a unique blending of the three that brings out the best attributes of each. Our fraternity is founded on a tripod of fellowship, leadership, and scholarship. Our members, some of the most involved students on campus, constantly strive to demonstrate these ideals in their daily lives.

We are a Brotherhood. Regardless of gender, all of our members are called Brothers. We are an extremely close-knit group of people who truly care for each other and will always be there for each other. Phi Sigma Pi becomes a second home and family for all of its members, a special bond that does not diminish after graduation. In fact, a great number of alumni frequently return for our special events, as well as Alumni Career Day and the Alumni Picnic. The Brotherhood fosters its connection between members with retreats, formals, and intramural sports teams. Brothers have even taken the initiative to socialize outside of official Phi Sigma Pi events, leading to the creation of traditions such as Monday Night Wing Night, Dining Hall Dinners, and Football Fridays. When you see a group of Brothers enjoying a picnic on the Green or packing a car for an impromptu trip to the beach, you can be assured these people have a genuine love and respect for each other.

Who ever thought that cleaning up a highway would be so much fun? In Phi Sigma Pi, we are dedicated to helping others and giving back to the community. Our two biggest events, Hope Bowl and Kick the Silence, draw teams from all around the East Coast to help support the B+ Foundation and childhood cancer research. We also volunteer at the Delaware Food Bank, A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, and Habitat for Humanity. Phi Sigma Pi has sponsored teams in Relay for Life, has participated in Adopt a Highway, and holds food drives every semester. We also work to collect supplies for and promote the ideas of our national philanthropic efforts of ending educational inequity. By constantly working for the good of others, we aim to become active leaders in the community and build strong moral character.

Being an honor fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi prides itself on the acquisition of all types of knowledge. Learning is not restricted to the classroom. In addition to holding book talks and coffee talks dedicated to topics such as the genocide in Darfur or the separation of church and state, we also take trips to Philadelphia and Washington, DC and local ethnic restaurants such as Casablanca. Our diverse and talented Brothers lead "How To's", in which they teach everything from self-defense to how to fix a car. Lectures and nature walks are some other scholarly events in which our Brothers take part. All of our Brothers would agree that rushing Phi Sigma Pi has enriched their lives. We hope you will follow their footsteps and come out to Recruitment. We look forward to meeting you!
