Would you like to join the Graduate Student Senate (GSS)? Are you a graduate student searching for a means to make your campus a better place for yourself and other graduate students? Perhaps you would like to expand your network and circle of acquaintances? Would you like to increase your service portfolio and build your resume while developing your professional and leadership skills? Would you like to dedicate some of your time at the service of the GSS?
To apply for a position on the GSS, just send an email to the Membership Officer Kirsten Hirneisen (khirneis@udel.edu). The GSS is open to ALL graduate students and You can either serve as an official (voting) senator representing your academic plan (if it is still open), a proxy/junior senator, or as a volunteer. Senators are required to attend all GSS monthly meetings or send their appointed proxy on their behalf. In addition, senators are expected to serve on at least one internal GSS committee or selected external committees. You may choose to serve on additional internal and/or external committees.
The GSS currently has one Executive Committee comprised of the President, Vice-President, Membership Officer and Secretary. In addition, the GSS has 9 committees that are open year-round. These committees are always actively looking for members to support their endeavors. If interested, please contact Kirsten Hirneisen (khirneis@udel.edu) to get set up.
