• Registration: Noon-1:30 p.m.
  • George Read Hall Lobby: students check in, receive room assignment, key, meal card, T-shirt, and materials for the week.
  • Park car in Clayton Hall parking lot
  • Drop off luggage in rooms and put on Governor’s School T-shirt.
  • Parents and students proceed to Clayton Hall for Welcome & Opening Exercises.
• Welcome & Opening Exercises: 2:00-3:00 p.m.
  • Clayton Hall, Room 128, Main Auditorium
  • Keynote Welcome Speakers
  • Parent-Student Orientation
  • Introductions
  • Students dismissed to go to their first activity
  • Parent Q & A
  • Parent Departure
• Student Ice Breakers & Group Pictures: 2:45 – 4:00 p.m.

Closing Day Schedule, Saturday, July 19, 2008

• Checkout: 7:30-8:00 a.m.
  • Students meet RAs in George Read Lounge for sign out & return of keys and meal ticket
• Parent Pick up: 8:00-8:45 a.m.
  • Drive around George Read Driveway for students and luggage
  • Park car in Clayton Hall parking area
  • Students and families proceed to Clayton Hall
• Governor’s Continental Breakfast: 9:00-10:00 a.m. Lobby, Clayton Hall
  • Students and their families invited
  • Visual Arts Students’ Art Exhibition Lobby & Room 101 A/B
• Closing Ceremony: 10:00 a.m.-noon
  • Keynote Closing Comments Speakers
  • Musical Performances—Instrumental & Choral Music Students
  • Theatre Sampling—Theatre Students
  • Academic Review—Academic Students
  • Slide Presentation
