In October, 2002, two University of Delaware students joined a select group of scholars, policy analysts and participants in the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis for a 40th anniversary look back at one of the darkest moments of the cold war. Lead by UD Professor Ralph Begleiter, the students visited the center of the crisis, Havana, Cuba, met Cuban leader Fidel Castro and visited the locations where Soviet nucelar missiles were planted during the crisis.
