This course will offer you a limited experience in the concepts and practice of developing and presenting a weekly television newscast, including:
- program design
- producing
- field and studio reporting
- interviewing
- editorial decision-making
- writing
- presentation
Simply put, our goal is to produce and present a weekly newscast good enough to be aired on the University of Delaware student television network. You will learn about story and element selection and writing, developing and conducting television interviews and field news packages, creating a program rundown, guest booking, planning for future programs and other aspects of television news.
You will earn 4 credits in this class, because you'll be spending much time in the TV studio, at the video editing stations and using field camera equipment as our laboratory.
