Policies
You are expected to observe and uphold the University's code of academic integrity and the rules against plagiarism. Plagiarism is a major, career-killing offense in the communication industry. Violations in this course will not be treated lightly and will be referred to University authorities in accordance with established university regulations.
Your written work should have a professional appearance. Even your most creative work will suffer from poor writing, spelling and formatting.
Guidelines for your papers:
Papers must be computer written and double-spaced. Handwritten documents will not be accepted.
On the first page, include your name, the course name and number, the date, the assignment title and any title you choose for your work.
On all subsequent pages, include your name and page number.
Electronic submission of assignments
This course will be very heavily computer-oriented. You will be required to create, polish, submit and publish your assignments using a computer. You may be creating documents such as these:
web pages containing links, graphics, photos and other resources CDs you create containing text, links, graphics, photos, videos
presentations you create containing text, links, graphics and other resources
It is your responsibility, not ours, to verify that all the links, elements and other resources in your electronic publications actually function properly. Your performance will be judged on the basis of what the instructors can see, not on what you intended to submit.
Use your spell-checker, but don't expect it to flag correctly-spelled words used incorrectly. For that, you must... Proofread your own work!
