Night Owl? Stargazer?
You can give opportunities to our students to make their dreams a reality. Your gift provides the University's college deans, department chairs, faculty, and program directors with funds that can be used for scholarships, student aid, special services, equipment and projects.
Your gift helps make dreams come true, day or night...
Let's talk Excellence.
"Striving for Excellence in all that we do" extends to the support we seek for UD's future. All alumni are being called upon to support their College.
Transfer Stock to the University of Delaware
One of the most advantageous ways to contribute to the University is through a gift of stock. Making a gift of securities is simple and offers a number of valuable financial benefits:
- You can donate appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds
- The total value of the stock upon transfer is tax-deductible
- There is no obligation to pay any capital gains taxes on the appreciation
Procedures for Stock Gifts
Transferring stock to UD is easy. Please review these instructions that include a list of brokerage firms that the University holds accounts with and who to contact to help transfer the securities.
Simply mail the stock certificate and the Donor/Broker Securities Transfer Form, along with a letter stating the purpose of the gift (or use the University of Delaware Securities Gift Form), to:
Suzanne Deshong
University of Delaware
Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration
220 Hullihen Hall, Newark, DE 19716.
Phone: 302-831-8964.
Alternatively, you may simply photocopy the back of your stock certificate and complete the forms. But remember to send the Donor/Broker Securities Transfer Form and certificate in separate envelopes for safety reasons. Suzanne can also call your bank or broker with instructions for the electronic transfer of stock if your bank or broker holds the securities.
Stock may be transferred directly to the University's brokerage account via Depository Trust Company (DTC) at M&T Securities - AZD949659, Pershing LLC, DTC #0443.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact Suzanne Deshong at 302- 831-8964 and be prepared to provide the following:
- Name of stock
- Number of shares
- Designation
- Time frame expected
- Name of brokerage account
