Make a gift to UD anytime
We realize life is busy. That’s why we’ve made it easy for you to make a gift to the University of Delaware on your schedule, not ours. With your check or credit card and our secure online form, you can make a donation to UD anytime, day or night.
Let's talk Excellence.
"Striving for Excellence in all that we do" extends to the support we seek for UD's future. All alumni are being called upon to support their College.
Transfer Stock to the University of Delaware
One of the most advantageous ways to contribute to the University is through a gift of stock. Making a gift of securities is simple and offers a number of valuable financial benefits:
- You can donate appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds
- The total value of the stock upon transfer is tax-deductible
- There is no obligation to pay any capital gains taxes on the appreciation
Procedures for Stock Gifts
If you wish to make a gift of securities, please contact the Development Office at 1-866-535-4504.
When you contact the Development Office, please notify them if you have an account with a brokerage firm. If you do, and it is one where UD also maintains a brokerage account, the Development Office will provide you with UD account information. If not, your broker should use the following M&T Securities brokerage information to transfer the securities:
M&T Securities
Account number AZD949659
Pershing LLC, DTC #0443
In either case, the Development Office will also need the following information from you:
- Name of Stock
- Number of shares
- Designation
- Time frame expected
- Name of brokerage account
You will need to provide instructions to your broker to initiate the transfer to one of the accounts held by UD. It is important that you authorize the broker to disclose to the University your name and the details pertaining to the stock transfer. This will allow UD to efficiently identify the gift when it arrives.
Contact Suzanne Deshong at 302-831-8964, Deshong@udel.edu or any member of the Development Office for additional information, if you do not have a broker, or for any other assistance with the transfer of the gift to the University.
