Kiplinger's Names UD a Best Value
Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine's newest list of the 100 best values in public colleges includes the University of Delaware. The ranking highlights “four-year institutions that deliver a stellar education at an affordable price.”
The magazine announced its list in its February issue, now on newsstands.
UD was selected from a pool of more than 500 public four-year colleges and universities. Universities on Kiplinger's top 100 list were ranked according to academic quality, including admission and retention rates, student-faculty ratios and four- and six-year graduation rates, as well as cost and financial aid.
UD ranks 26th for out-of-state students and 29th for in-state students, proving UD is a smart money decision, especially compared to some other East Coast institutions -- for example, the University of Connecticut (36th for out-of-state students, 32nd for in-state students), Penn State (37th, 44th), Rutgers (38th, 51st), George Mason University (90th, 61st), and the University of Massachusetts Amherst (59th, 83rd).
