Time Honored Support
These indivduals are the backbone of the University, providing leadership and support where it is most needed.
Pillars and Signers Societies
In recognition of those whose generosity has allowed the University to flourish, the Pillars and Signers Societies have been established in order to recognize those who have made significant lifetime contributions to UD.
The Signers Society
The Signers Society recognizes donors whose lifetime giving is in excess of $250,000. The society is named in recognition of the three Signers of the Declaration of Independence in the original class of the Reverend Francis Alison's New London Academy, to which the University traces its roots. Just as those historic figures shaped the institution's earliest legacies, today's Signers continue to mold the University.
The Pillars Society
The Pillars Society recognizes donors whose lifetime giving is between $100,000 and $249,999. The society is thus named because the support of these individuals upholds the University. Just as the beautiful Georgian columns around campus uphold our buildings, the members of the Pillars Society provide leadership and support which serve as the foundation for excellence in all we do.
The 1743 Society
The generosity of members of the 1743 Society has a major impact on the University, providing annual funds with which the institution can strengthen academic programs and ensure a quality educational environment for students and faculty.
Levels of support are as follows:
- Sponsor $250 - $499
Donors at this level and above are listed in the annual Report of Private Support. Alumni are also listed by their class year. - Fellow $500 - $999
As a token of the University's appreciation, an attractive blue and gold lapel pin is sent to 1743 Society members the first year they qualify for membership. Replacement pins may be requested from the Office of University Development.
Please see the Delaware Diamonds Society for gifts of $1,000 and more.
