A Word from our Chair...

BlairI’m delighted to be serving as the new Volunteer Chair of the Carillon Circle.  As Chair, I look forward to working with you, our alumni and friends, to encourage others to support the University of Delaware through estate and other tax-wise gifts.  One of my goals as Chair is to increase participation and membership in the Carillon Circle.  I am proud to be an alumna with both undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as a parent and sister of Delaware alumni.  I believe wholeheartedly in giving back to the university that nurtured me and my family in so many ways.

Now is a great time to return to the University and enjoy the camaraderie and school spirit you can share with current students and alumni. Whether at a Blue Hens athletic event, a walk down Main Street, or a tour of the new Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Laboratory on Academy Street, I invite you to take a stroll down memory lane while engaging in the new and exciting happenings around campus.

Over the course of the last year, the Carillon Circle inducted 23 new members and we are actively seeking to welcome many more newcomers to our group.  And here’s how you can help: tell your friends about the Carillon Circle!  Just like you are creating your legacy through a gift from your estate to the University of Delaware, so too can others.  There are many more alumni and friends who could gain great satisfaction by making a difference in the lives of our students.

Did you know that many people are not aware of the various ways to donate to the University through their estate?  Tell your friends that a gift from a Will or Trust, a retirement plan, stocks and appreciated assets, life insurance, real estate or personal property can make a great impact on the students, faculty and programs at the University.

I would like to personally thank you, our members, for your kind support over the years.  Your loyalty and generosity has afforded so many students invaluable learning experiences, as well as helped the University continue to provide students with an outstanding education.  I look forward to this upcoming year and to seeing each of you at one of the many events at the University of Delaware.

Best regards,
