UD Community Gives Back

UD Community Gives Back

In the 2012- 2013 academic year, UD raised nearly $63 million from more than 21,000 donors to support academics, research, athletics, scholarships and everything in between. Over 1,000 of these donors were members of the Class of 2013 who got involved during the Senior Class Gift Campaign by supporting their favorite areas on campus. Every gift truly matters and plays a large role in making the UD experience possible and affordable.

Noble

Student Spotlight: Noble Tucker, '15

Noble Tucker, '15, is a political science major from Murrieta, California. When asked why he chose to attend the University of Delaware, Noble says, "I chose [UD] because it is one of the best schools in the United States and will give me one of the best educations possible." As a recipient of the Class of 1958 Scholarship, Noble is thankful for the generosity of donors. "I am very grateful because they did not have to donate any money, but they did. It shows a lot about their gracious characters.  It also helps me to obtain my degree and the future lifestyle I want for myself," says Noble.

Meet the Class of 2017

This fall, nearly 4,000 freshmen from 46 states and 72 countries are beginning their journey as Blue Hens. These incoming students were selected from more than 26,000 applicants. Nearly 2,000 freshmen were offered merit-based scholarship packages, totaling an average of $6,000 per student. This much support was made possible with the 800 donors who contributed to the General Scholarship Fund last academic year.

Facutly and Staff Increase Impact

Faculty and Staff Increase Impact

In May 2012, the Rising to the Challenge faculty and staff campaign launched. Since then, 30% of UD faculty and staff members have made gifts totaling over $1.3 million and have supported 256 different departments, centers and units across campus. The investment of UD faculty and staff in their workplace demonstrates their steadfast belief in the University’s mission. Their generosity impacts students and the greater UD community.
