Using Nudges and Choice Architecture to Prevent
Free Riding and Voluntarily Provide Public Goods (contd)

Part 2. Group Writing Assignment about the Voluntary Contribution Game
After the instructor shows the group their results from their experiment and the results from the other groups in the class, group should be assigned to new groups and asked to complete a short writing assignment discussing the individual and group behaviors observed in the results from their experiment and from the results of other groups. The writing assignment should ask student to think about the incentives for the individual and how they are similar or different from the incentives for the group. Groups should be encouraged to research the idea of 'free riding' and then to describe whether this behavior was seen in the experiments and how this behavior can cause societal problems due to the under-provision of public goods.
