Sakai Tool Selection
The institution decides which tools will be available for use on that server. This is an important decision because your capabilities are defined by your tools.
Sakai Tools Adopted At UD
Here at UD, the following Sakai tools are available for use by course authors:
Announcements, Assignments, Blog Wow, Chat Room, Forums, Gradebook, Messages, News, Podcasts, Polls, Post'Em, Resources, Roster, Schedule, Search, Section Info, Site Info, Syllabus, Tests & Quizzes, Web Content, Wiki.
Of these, I use Assignments, Blog Wow, Chat Room, Forums, Gradebook, Messages, News, Podcasts, Resources, Roster, Schedule, Search, Section Info, Site Info, Web Content, and Wiki. I used Web Content to create a "Home" page that is the default startup page of my course, and I used Web Content to create a "Requirements" page that makes clear what are the requirements of my course.
Sakai Tools Not Available At UD
The following tools are part of Sakai but have not been made available for use here at the University of Delaware:
They seem to be drop box, email archive, presentation, portfolio... are there more?
