Organizing Resources in Sakai

A powerful aspect of Sakai is its ability to share resources among course participants. Within Sakai, this is done with the Resources Tool.

Redundant Copy Issue

From page 2 of sakai_intro.doc: "Note that when you attach a file to a course site tool, you're actually making a copy of the file; restrictions you set for the file in your MyWorkspace do not hold for the copy." If you update the file in MyWorkspace, do the course copies update automatically?

Global Versus Local Workspace

I encountered trouble getting images and style sheet icons to appear in student view. I had put them in my global workspace, not the course-specific workspace. I tried to work around this by hard coding to the specific HTTP address in my global workspace. That did not work, however. For now, therefore, I moved the resources into the course-specific workspace. What is the proper way to reference a global resource in order that it can be viewable by students in their course workspace?
