Grading Issues in Sakai
Students cannot see their current course grade average from the assignments they have completed so far because uncompleted assignments count as a 0 so they would be shown discouraging grade averages.
In the gradebook, I wish names of things could be more intuitive. I wish the column settings would stick. I wish you would get a warning if you forget to award points. I found the term "feedback" confusing because the term was used on the student side as well as the instructor side when I permitted a student to resubmit an assignment and went back in to regrade it.
Assignments Tool Grading Issue
You cannot grade a student if they have not made a submission. As the Sakai help explains, "The Assignments tool can post grades to the Gradebook. If you choose this option, you won't be able to enter grades manually for students who did not complete the assignment online."
