Educational Technology Foundations
Module 4: Standards
In the realm of educational technology, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) recognizes two specialty professional organizations, namely, (1) the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and (2) the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT). The ISTE standards are intended for master's degree candidates who are certified teachers in K-12 schools. The AECT standards may be used by teachers but may be more applicable to candidates from higher education and industry.
ISTE Standards
The ISTE standards for K-12 technology facilitators and technology leaders are found online at www.ncate.org/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=qlUe4UK5W6k%3d&tabid=676.

LoTi Framework
LoTi stands for Levels of Technology implementation. Created by Chris Moersch, LoTi is a framework for measuring authentic classroom computer use. According to the LoTi Web site, "Ten states and thousands of school systems worldwide have adopted the LoTi standard to gauge their efforts toward improving instructional technology practices." Delaware is one of the states that has adopted LoTi.
