Dear UD Alumni and Friends,
I am delighted to invite you to join us for our first-ever University of Delaware Forum that will take place on our campus on Saturday, May 10, 2008. The Forum promises to be an exciting event, bringing together alumni from across the country, students, parents, faculty, staff and many others essential to the University’s growth and development. We have an engaging lineup of thought-provoking sessions led by distinguished leaders from industry, policy, the arts, and the global community, who together with University faculty members, will address the salient issues facing the University and today’s world.
The day will begin with a keynote address from His Excellency Zhou Wenzhong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the United States of America, and will continue with two concurrent panel sessions on such subjects as globalization, economics, corporate governance, the environment and alternative energy, life sciences and biotechnology, arts and culture, and education. The program concludes in the late afternoon with remarks by Delaware Governor Ruth Ann Minner and my inaugural presentation of the University’s “Path to Prominence.” The day will be interspersed with activities, including an international food fair on The Green, campus tours, a first look at UD’s Online Community, and a closing reception at the Bob Carpenter Center.
I hope that you will make the most of this unique opportunity to become actively engaged in the UD community, connecting with your classmates, professors and distinguished thought leaders. I would be particularly honored for you to join us as I announce the University’s vision for the future in my afternoon address. Please browse this website to learn more about the exciting panels, speakers, and activities the day will offer.
I look forward to seeing you at this landmark event, as the University embarks on its new path to prominence.
Sincerely,
