Playing Wall Street: Demonstrating UD’s new Exelon Trading Floor

As technology becomes more complex and plays a more intrinsic role in the function of business, hands-on learning opportunities are becoming a valuable supplement to classroom learning. The Exelon Trading Center (ETC) is a state of the art educational trading floor and research laboratory equipped with the same hardware, software and market data found in professional trading firms around the world. The ETC hosts software and services from Reuters, Bloomberg and RiseVision, allowing students to analyze and monitor equity, bond, foreign exchange, futures, options and other derivatives markets from around the world. During this session, we will demonstrate how stocks are traded using a fast-paced trading simulation that pits participants against one other in a battle of logic and trading skill. No prior trading experience is required. Guests will have the opportunity to try out this new technology, make “trades,” and experience the excitement of Wall Street here in Newark, Deaware.
