| Tita returned home to find
that something horrible had happened to Nacha - she was dead. Tita
was still standing in shock in Nacha's bedroom when Mamá Elena entered
the room. Mamá Elena was furious and accused Tita of putting
an emetic in the cake batter. She beat her. Tita could not
