Exams

Chapter Exams (at the end of Chapters 9, 10,
and 11)

the Chapter Exams will test your knowledge
of the chapter's vocabulary, structures, and cultural (country profile)
information presented. There will also be a listening comprehension
section.

to prepare for the chapter exams:

complete all homework assignments
-
participate in all class activities
-
study every day (do not wait until the night
before the exam)

log on to WebCT and complete the Autopruebas
and the Practice Activities (please note that these web sites
give you the option to email your results to your Instructors - you do
NOT have to do this unless your Instructor tells you to do so)

Reading Exam
-
the Reading Exam will include a short article
in Spanish and comprehension activities. You will not be permitted
to use a dictionary during the exam.

to prepare for the reading exam:
-
read as much as possible in Spanish - in your
textbook, all handouts provided by your Instructors, and Spanish web sites
-
read news articles, short stories, poetry,
etc.

although you may not understand every word
in a text, try to get the main gist. Your textbook explains various
reading strategies that you can use.

Final Exam (CUMULATIVE)
-
the final exam will test all four chapters
(9-11 and the sections of chapter 12 that were covered.) It will
also have a reading section with comprehension activities. There
will NOT be a listening section.

the exam will be given during the Final Exam
Week, at a date and time determined by the University Scheduling Office.
Your Instructors cannot change the date or time of the exam. If you
need to make travel arrangements before the date of the exam is announced,
assume the exam will occur on the last day of the Final Exam Week.
