Guidelines for Pre and Post-Presentation Journaling
(note:  click on the links for handouts, although paper copies were provided in class.)

Guidelines:  Please type your answers to these questions and respond with details.  Refer to the text you have read and support your claims and findings with evidence.   A good length would be 1.5- 2 pages, double- spaced, if you are using a 12 font and standard margins.  If you decide not to type, please make sure you are writing neatly, and a comparable amount. 

Grading Rubric for these assignments: 

To what extent does the journaling demonstrate understanding 
from the research assignments and preparation for the lectures?
-(3 points) The journal reflects critical reading and thinking about the topic
-(2 points) The journal reflects some reading and thinking about the topic
-(1 point) The journal reflects  limited reading and thinking about the topic

-(5-6 points) The journals reflect a deep understanding of the topic and relates it to their teaching 
-(3-4 points)  The journals reflect some understanding of the topic and attempt to relate it to their teaching 
-(1-2 points) The journals reflect limited understanding of the topic and shows little connection to their teaching
