Guidelines for
Speaking Activity
You will need to find current information about your travel
destinations.
This activity counts as 10% of your semester grade.
- You and a partner are the producers of a two-minute
travel commercial about Germany (first speaking activity) or Austria
(second speaking activity).
- In the commercial you both talk about the geography,
weather and people.
- Have visuals to support your statements. Be convincing!
Be entertaining!
- Use a variety of sources such as the internet and
newspapers, as well as interviews and photos from persons who have been to
these places.
- It is important to practice ahead of time with
your partner , not just immediately prior to the scheduled activity.
- You will not be allowed to use any texts or
notes.
Grade
Content and presentation both count in your grade.
All information must be up to date and accurate. Prices, dates and place
names must be in correct German.
Grammar, vocabulary, intonation and pronunciation must be correct. It is important
to practice your presentation orally ahead of time. Your classmates will
provide you with peer feedback. A checklist
to help you with your preparation is provided.
Your classmates will fill out peer feedback forms for you while you and your partner speak.
