Spring 2010 |
Dear Advisees, As your advisor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, I’m writing to let you know that it’s time for us to schedule our annual advisement meeting. In order to arrange this appointment, please e-mail at: aml @udel.edu. There are many issues for us to discuss, including the courses you plan to take next semester and beyond, your program for completing your major, your study abroad options, your choices of related work, your future career opportunities, and any other questions or concerns you might have. The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures is committed to helping you make informed and accurate choices to ensure that you graduate on time and obtain the most benefit from your university career. The Department cannot be responsible, however, for any mistakes or misunderstandings that might occur concerning your program of study if you do not meet with your advisor at least once a year. As stated in the University Undergraduate Catalog, certain courses may count towards your major but they must be “chosen with prior approval of the advisor and according to option requirements.” I look forward to seeing you. Sincerely,
P.S.: If you are a graduating senior and have already completed senior
check-out, you may disregard this letter.

Arts & Science students wishing
to take an overload (18+ credits) need to make an appointment to see an
A&S advisor after drop/add begins. The SIS system will not allow any
student to apply for more than 17 credits; only an A&S advisor can
override the system, and they can only do that after drop/add (August for
the Fall semester). It is therefore impossible for a student to apply for
an overload during preregistration.
The student must have an overall GPA of 2.5, and at least a 3.0 for the previous semester to be considered a viable candidate for an overload. |
