  Taught in Spanish. (3 cr.)
Discussion of topics drawn from contemporary Spanish or Latin American life. For students who which to broaden their knowledge of Hispanic culture while improving thier oral and aural language skills.
Prerequisites: Span 107 or Span 211
Spanish minors: This course serves as your third 200-level course

Contemporary Latin America - Costa Rica:
  Taught in English. (3 cr)
Itroduction to contemporary Latin America (specifically Costa Rica), its culture, its people, their way of life and the issues confronting them. Material may be presented in the form of guided tours and lectures by invited guests  These lectures are an integral part of the course, as are vening events and short excursions to sites of local interest.
Restrictions: Not for Span Minor credit. May be repeated for credit when taken on different study abroad programs

Course may be repeated for credit when topics vary.
