Spanish is actually taught by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures which provides instruction for all foreign languages offered by the University of Delaware. The offices of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures are located at 30 E. Main Street in Jastak-Burgess Hall near the "Little Bob" Carpenter Sports Center. An office directory including all FLL faculty is available in the entrance-way of Jastak-Burgess Hall for your convenience. Office hours are posted outside individual faculty offices and on the Personnel section of the FLL Website.
Placement in all 100-level courses is determined by a set of rules or guidelines based entirely on the number of years of successful contact with the language at the high school level. These guidelines can be found on the FL Placement web page. However, the department does have a Spanish placement coordinator to administer the exemption exam used to place out of the 100-level courses. Her name is Crista Johnson.
The FLL Department creates a list of the courses it teaches at the 200-level and above every semester. This list includes descriptions of the courses, their prerequisites, and who is teaching them. You may access the list by clicking on the Student Friendly Course Description link of the FLL web page.
